What we ask of every WhaleYou teacher

  • Know the current MOE syllabus for every level they teach, and the school term it is on
  • Check every child's work in every lesson, which a class of six makes possible
  • Tell parents what they see, plainly and early
  • Mark for method and technique, not only the final answer
  • Say honestly after a trial whether the class is the right fit

Teaching at WhaleYou

We are building the team for both centres. If you are an experienced primary school teacher who wants to teach classes of six, not thirty, email admin@whaleyou.sg.

Getting it right matters more than a famous name

You know who is in the room

A brand over the door means little if you do not know the teacher. Every teacher is named with their subjects and levels, so you do.

Current syllabus, reviewed answers

We keep up with what MOE is teaching this year and check our answer keys, because teaching the wrong method is the fastest way to lose your trust.

We were students once too

Our worksheets are built to help a child actually understand, not to fill a folder. We remember what genuinely helped and what did not.

Questions parents ask

Who teaches the classes?

Our lead teacher, Ming Qi, has nine years of teaching experience. Every WhaleYou teacher is named on the teachers page with their subjects and levels, so you know who is in the room with your child.

Will I hear how my child is doing?

Yes. Teachers share what they notice about your child during the year, not only at report time. With six students at most, the teacher sees every child's work in every lesson.

How many students are in a WhaleYou class?

Never more than six. Every Primary 1 to 6 class at WhaleYou Learning is capped at 6 students with one teacher, at both Beauty World Centre and Alexandra Central. If a class is full we open a new one or waitlist; we do not add a seventh chair.
